Mustang of the Month

From 3.8Wiki

November Mustang Of The Month has been chosen

Congratulations Aereon!

Here is a picture of his beautiful car from the voting thread. I will contact him as see if he will give us a few more pics and tell us a little about his car, and how he got where he today with it. [[1]]

A word from our winner! So I started out with a 00' v6 mustang that was completely paid off, it had magnaflows and udp's, which is all it has. I was content with it and modding it since I had it paid off at the time, it wasn't until my best friend traded his civic for a trans am that had me itching for a little more growl.

2 months later (7/06) I traded the six in for this 03 GT with 24k miles, auto, bones stock, clear title, clear carfax for 12k. It wasn't long before I had SLP LMII's and SLP Catted X's on its way, shortly after came hid's, saleens, and coilovers. At this point I was sick of the auto and began looking for alternatives, as I was checking classifieds for t5's, t45's, and calling shops for quotes, one of the shops that supports CA-Mustangs (shops name is AED) gave me a call telling me they had a customer with an 04 cobra with > 10k miles. Without hesitation I brought the car there, I ended up taking a few extra goodies from the cobra as well (bullitt pedals, aluminum d shaft,d shaft safety loop, and new clutch/flywheel). Soon after I had the t56 in, I started looking for a good condition IRS, no sooner had I posted a wtt on CA-Fords had I received a pm from someone with a > 25k 03 cobra wanting to swap. After the swap the car pretty much stayed as is except for the bushing swap for the IRS.

On to the interior, it's pretty much a stock 03 premium gt interior with tilting headrests and leather seats. I found an avic z1 online with a cracked touch screen for $300 shipped, after talking with the owner about the unit, and it turns out to be in perfect working condition with exception to the screen. So $600 (replacement screen $200, $100 avic z2 hdd, and $300 for the unit) later I had a working z2. After scoring such a sweet HU I couldn't stand the crappy in comparison mach 1000 setup, so I ended up picking up Alpine Class D V Series Mono Amp MRP-M500, Alpine Type R SWR-1042D 10" Dual 4 OHM SUB, Hifonics ZXI4406 4 Channel Amp, Kicker DS680 2 Way Speakers, Kicker KS5.2 Component Speakers. After a hellish 2 day marathon myself and my god brother finally had all the sound setup wired and working.

The exterior of the car hasn't changed as much as most of the guys here (taylor....) but it's undergone quite a few changes, I can mainly point to 3 times as the car went into the shop 3 times due to accidents. Exterior parts list can be found a little lower. The most distinct part of my car that I like is my retrofitted headlamps, it was a nightmare getting everything setup correctly but after all was said and done the outcome was exceptional and beyond what I was expecting.

Well, that's my crappy write up since I've never done anything like this and I'm horrible when it comes to writing, this will have to do.

Heres that parts list

Future plans: The exterior has a few things planned that I've yet to see so I'm reluctant to spend money on it just yet. Also it's not a priority.

I will be finishing up the MM suspension setup I have as I want to lighten up the front to further minimize brake dive by going with the tubular k kit.

Other than that I'm completely confused as to how I will be reaching my goal of 500rwhp/rwtq DD. Reliability is the most important thing to me so I'm taking this part into careful consideration. Main things I'm considering are either A) Built 2v, tf heads, p51 intake, power adder. I am leaning towards A Paxton Novi 2000 w/ic setup since it seems to be a bit more DD friendly at 500rwhp/rwtq than a Kennebell 2.1l (which is what I'd like if I SC). If I can find a way to get my car around the smog nazi's in California then I'd love to do a TT setup. B) 03/04 Cobra DOHC Swap and blower.

Again congratulations Aereon, on being 3.8mustang.com's 1st Mustang Of The Month!

This is a section where you can nominate and vote for members rides here on 3.8 as Mustang of the month. Once this either has enough intrest or doesn't it will be updated and pics will be added along with a discription of the car and the driver.

The rules are as follows:

Must be a Mustang (for now, later it may change)

Can be any member that is active on this forum.

You can nominate your own car.

There will be a thread where you can vote on nominated members rides.

when nominating a member's ride give some reasons as to why you think they would be a good canidate for MOTM.

So there has been some talk about a Mustang of the Month section for a while now. This is my attempt at making such a section. If there is anything I missed just let me know, feel free to offer avdice, this is my first time doing anything like this.

Winners of Mustang of the Month should write a paragraph or two on their car. How they got it, what made them modify etc. Winners should also choose a small collection of their favorite photos of their car.
