if you noticed, none of the in-car shots were of drifting.

the outside shots were probaly with out him holding a camera and he needed an excuse for crashing.

so he used the camera while he wasnt drifting and told everyone he was filming while drifting

i wonder if he teaches that in homeschooling

If you pause it at about 59 seconds, it doesn't look like he has a camera right before the crash. If you ask me, crashing while holding an $x,000 is worse than just crashing, but I guess he will do whatever he thinks he has to do to save face.
